Updated ASCIA Immunodeficiency Patient and Carer Information

To coincide with World Primary Immunodeficiency (PI) Week (22-28 April 2024) and the International Day of Immunology (29 April 2024), ASCIA information for patients and carers about primary immunodeficiencies (also known as inborn errors of immunity) has been updated to make it easier to:

  • Read and understand, by simplifying language and changing to FAQ formats.
  • Contact support organisations by including links to their websites at the start of each FAQ.

SCIg Therapy - General Information has been updated to include subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIg) products that are currently available in Australia and New Zealand. This FAQ is not specific for immunology and can be used by any patients/carers who need general information about SCIg, including management guides for SCIg infusion site reactions, problems and other reactions.

This news item was issued on 26 April 2024 by Jill Smith, CEO of ASCIA, the peak professional body for clinical immunology and allergy in Australia and New Zealand.
