
ASCIA 2025 Conference registration and abstract submission
The ASCIA 2025 Conference is being held from Tuesday 2 to Friday 5 September 2025 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. This is a hybrid conference, which enables virtual registration for delegates who cannot attend in-person. On-demand viewing of recorded sessions will be available for all registered delegates for six months after the conference, resulting in further CPD opportunities.
The program features current allergy, clinical immunology and immunopathology issues and research presented by more than 60 speakers, including 5 international experts.

ASCIA 2025 Conference food allergy course for dietitians
The ASCIA Food Allergy Course for Dietitians (in-person only) will be held as part of the ASCIA 2025 Conference on Friday 5 September 2025, 08.15-17.00.
Dietitians can register for this in-person course on Friday only, or register for the full conference (including the Allergy Update for Dietitians on Thursday 4 September) and opt for the Dietitians Course on Friday. Participants will be sent a link to online learning that needs to be completed prior to the course.

EOIs for 2025 AIFA research grants due 30 May
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are invited from ASCIA members for AIFA grants, which support clinically important research into allergy and other immune diseases. In 2025 there are six AIFA grants and EOIs are due by midnight on 30 May 2025. The EOI form is on the AIFA website
Since 2014, AIFA has awarded grants to support 40 allergy and immunology research projects. AIFA is now seeking donations and sponsorship to support more research projects.
Donate to AIFA and make a difference - all donations go directly to fund AIFA research grants.

ASCIA e-training for health professionals evaluation reports
In 2024 there were 14,011 completions for ASCIA anaphylaxis and allergy e-training courses for health professionals, which is an increase of 150% compared to 5,589 course completions in 2023.
The large increase in course completions is due to promotion of the courses by ASCIA, through conferences, e-newsletters and social media, as part of the National Allergy Council Shared Care for Allergy project.
Evaluation reports have been completed and are available on the ASCIA website
Whilst the overall feedback was positive, the information provided in these reports will guide future developments and improvements to ASCIA online training and resources.

Updated ASCIA primary immunodeficiency resources
As stated in the Journal of Human Immunity (JHI) there are now more than 550 inborn errors of immunity, which include primary immunodeficiencies. ASCIA primary immunodeficiency resources have been updated to include this increase:
ASCIA is planning to develop new resources as part of the ASCIA Immunodeficiency Strategy for Australia and New Zealand. Read more here

Feedback on ASCIA website due 26 May 2025
ASCIA website visits continue to increase, with more than 3 million pageviews (~250,000 per month) from more than 2 million visitors. To build on the success of ASCIA’s website, it is time to make major improvements to the user experience and interface, by developing a new ASCIA website.

National allergy priorities for research
The National Allergy Centre of Excellence (NACE) is setting national allergy priorities for research (SNAPR) to help ensure that future allergy research addresses the issues that matter most to people living with allergies, their families and healthcare providers.
To provide input, complete the short anonymous online survey by 30 June 2025.
