Updated ASCIA 2023 Conference program book

Details about sponsored sessions and social functions are now included in the updated ASCIA 2023 Conference Program Book

Registration is still open for the conference, which is being held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney from Tuesday 5 to Friday 8 September 2023. The hybrid format enables in-person or virtual attendance, and on-demand viewing for registered delegates after the conference.

ASCIA anaphylaxis e-training reports

Reports on feedback from ASCIA anaphylaxis e-training courses for health professionals, schools and children’s education/care are available open access on the ASCIA website  

The feedback surveys were conducted in 2022 and results will be used to guide course updates, as part of National Allergy Council projects.

ASCIA annual general meeting (AGM) 2023

The ASCIA AGM is being held on Thursday 7 September 2023, 17.30-18.00 at ICC Sydney, during the ASCIA 2023 Conference week. The AGM Agenda includes an overview of the new ASCIA Priorities Report which includes results from the ASCIA member priorities survey conducted in 2022-2023.

CFAR postgraduate research scholarships

The Centre for Food Allergy Research (CFAR) invites applications for postgraduate scholarships for food allergy research PhD or Masters candidates. Applications close Monday 4 September 2023.

Quality standard for rheumatoid arthritis (RA)

ASCIA members have been invited to participate in a survey to assist the development of a new Quality Standard for RA, to improve the quality of care for people living with RA. The final quality statements will be based on consensus agreement by healthcare professionals and people living with RA. The survey is open until 6 September 2023. Read more here

AusPollen partnership impact case study published by NHMRC

An Impact Case Study on the AusPollen Partnership and associated research projects has recently been published by the NHMRC, the peak national body supporting health and medical research in Australia. Read more here

The AusPollen partnership is an important research collaboration for ASCIA and was one of the first research projects supported by an AIFA research grant in 2014, when AIFA was first established. Since then, a total of 27 projects have been awarded AIFA research grants. Read more here

Stallergenes Greer (STARG) Foundation science awards

The STAGR Foundation is providing Science Awards in Allergy for young or mid-career scientists to advance precision medicine in the field of allergy or be recognised for outstanding work in the environmental field, to advance the prevention and treatment of allergies. Three awards totalling €150,000 are available and applications close 29 November 2023.
