ASCIA Membership ApplicationASCIA is the peak professional body of Clinical Immunologists and Allergists in Australia and New Zealand.

To be eligible for ASCIA membership applicants shall:

(a) normally be actively involved in the practice/teaching/research of clinical/ diagnostic immunology/allergy.

(b) have made significant contributions to the field.

(c) not be engaged (either personally or on behalf of another person or organisation) in commercial activity involving the sale or marketing of allergy and clinical  immunology related products (except as an incidental or minor subsidiary activity to clinical practice, teaching or research activities).

Full (Ordinary) members shall be either Fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and/or Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA), or health professionals (such as Scientists) with a post-graduate doctoral research degree, and at least ten years post graduate experience in clinical immunology and/or allergy. Some Full ASCIA members are medical specialists in other areas (whose Full membership has been approved by ASCIA Council), that see patients with predominantly allergic and/or immune diseases, and/or have made a significant contribution to this field of clinical practice.

Other categories of ASCIA membership include Associate (Medical Practitioner), Associate (Other Health Professionals) and Associate (Trainee).

ASCIA members benefits include discounted registration for ASCIA Annual Scientific Meetings, invitations to regional ASCIA events, access to the restricted members section of the ASCIA website, monthly ASCIA e-newsletters and eligibility to participate in ASCIA Committees and Working Parties. 

ASCIA membership applications are reviewed at ASCIA Council meetings, which are usually held four times per year, in February, May, August/September and December.
